When things have been taken out of context (like many of the posts jay has highlighted) it can look offensive. However it doesnt take much to notice when something is said in jest, it IS down to the individual to say when something offends them, but unless it is a generalised comment, it is only the individual "victim" (and i use that term loosly) who should raise their concern.

How can this be offensive at all?

And I don't take offence. Yes some people may have been offended by certain comments, but instead of just quoting it and saying "this annoyed me" then they should report it to a moderator. If the moderator thinks it should be edited to stop offence, then the person who wrote the post will be asked to modify it (or it will be modified on their behalf).

You can't have "freedom of speech" and tell people not to be themselves. You can however get your point across without launching into personal attacks for no reason.
